Many Democrats are already congratulating themselves on their impending success at the 2018 mid terms. Many pundits too are predicting great success for the Dems… but these are the same pundits who predicted Trump’s crushing defeat in 2016!
And that didn’t happen.
Newt Gingrich believes that 2018 could be a great year for Republicans who “can win a surprising election this fall,” if they “let the Democrats be the party of socialism” while conservatives focus on jobs and economic growth.
The Federalist Papers report,
Gingrich was interviewed on Fox News, where he explained that those expecting Democrats to come out on top after the midterms are wrong again.
They were wrong about Donald Trump and the primaries, Gingrich explained. They were wrong about the 2016 election. And they’ve been wrong consistently since. Gingrich also promoted his book “Trump’s America,” which covers many of the topics he brought up, before explaining how he believed Republicans can win during the midterms.
“If the Republicans, led by the president, can focus in on winning the argument about the tax bill,” Gingrich said, “spend the whole year pounding away at the notion. Jobs are created by businesses, cutting taxes and cutting regulations creates jobs. And let the Democrats be the party of socialism, big government and big bureaucracy. I think we can win a surprising election this fall.”
Right now, polls are favoring Democrats. But Gingrich doesn’t put much faith in those polls, considering the the polls couldn’t have been more wrong about Trump.
